January 27, 2021 55104c

Yesterday the NFL betting partner, with respect to the league overall.

Under Virginia's sports wagering law, the Washington Commanders football club was given preference for a mobile sports betting permit based on it meeting certain criteria for sports franchises headquartered in Virginia, even though they play their games at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland.  The team was given the option to partner with an established sports wagering operator to run the business. The Washington Commanders club has chosen the FanDuel Sportsbook as its operational partner to tly hold the permit.

Senior Vice President, Corporate Partnerships & Hospitality for the Washington Commanders, Scott Shepherd, provided his thoughts on the partnership:

"When this truly unique opportunity presented itself, it was a natural fit to strategically align with our long-time partner, FanDuel, as we knew they'd establish a best in class sports betting marketplace, grounded by innovation and consumer protection. We're very excited for all this groundbreaking partnership will offer our valued fans throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia as part of their game day experience."

At launch, like all Virginia betting sites and apps, FanDuel will have new customer sportsbooks offers.  The first of which is used across FanDuel's states of operation to date.  This promotion is for up to a $1,000 site credit to customers that lose their first bet.  FanDuel has also developed a local offer with the promo code "WASHINGTON" so that customers may get a $25 deposit bonus.  Furthermore, FanDuel has moved to make their wallet system fully interchangeable within Virginia for their sportsbook and Daily Fantasy Sports platforms.  In other words, Virginia players may used their funds seamlessly within a single on both of these gaming verticals: Once for both sportsbook and DFS.

FanDuel also highlights Responsible Gambling within Virginia. The FanDuel Sportsbook has protections in place and a global reputation for responsible wagering.  If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, please call, text or chat, the confidential and toll free helpline at 1-888-532-3500.

Perhaps surprisingly, FanDuel is not available for wagering within the city limits of Washington DC itself, where two other private operators have secured access.
